Evolution of Gundam features every incarnation of RX-78, and it is an excellent walkthrough that examines how each version of this iconic mecha improves on the last.
Bandai Hobby Centre area describes how Gunpla evolves from prototyping to moulds and the end product. Less elaborately explained than in last year’s event, but still nicely presented.
The Perfect Grade display area showcases a mix of professional painted, customised and simple snap-fitted models, but is nevertheless an awesome showcase of the most advanced Gundam designs.
My favourite area is the Gundam Unicorn display. The Unicorn Gundam has quickly become one of my favourite mecha designs.
I was quite thrilled by the Unicorn Gundam statue.
The only downside for me was there wasn’t an event exclusive that caught my eye, and those that did, I had already preordered, namely GFFN Full Armour Unicorn Gundam and Robot Spirits Strike Freedom.
Quite a pity as I really enjoyed scoring an event exclusive at last year’s event, namely Gundam Fix Figuration Metal Composite Psycho Gundam (Hong Kong Night Version).
Nevertheless, I had an awesome time at the event and thanks to all involved in hosting this. I will be dropping by again as it is a 10 minute walk from where I live.
